Position Overview

The UI/UX Designer & Frontend Developer will be responsible for designing intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centered digital interfaces, and implementing them into functional, responsive web and mobile application frontends. The role bridges the gap between design and technology, ensuring a seamless user experience through well-crafted interfaces and clean, efficient code.

Key Responsibilities

Design Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and create modern, user-friendly UI designs for websites and applications.
• Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity layouts using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to improve overall user experience.
• Ensure all design elements align with the company’s branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, and developers to translate requirements into effective design solutions.

Development Responsibilities

• Convert approved designs into functional frontends using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular. (React preferred)
• Ensure responsive and cross-browser-compatible interfaces across devices and platforms.
• Optimize UI performance and page load speeds through best coding practices.
• Integrate frontends with backend systems via APIs in collaboration with backend developers.
• Maintain and update existing frontends based on new requirements and user feedback.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, or a related field is a plus. (Self taught individuals without qualifications are welcome to apply)
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in UI/UX design and frontend development.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma / Adobe XD.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive design frameworks (TailwindCSS).
• Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration workflows.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and web performance optimization.

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative mindset with analytical thinking to balance aesthetics and usability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with motion design or interactive animations (e.g., Lottie, Framer Motion).
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Odoo, WordPress, or Strapi.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and UX heuristics.
• Basic understanding of backend technologies (Python, Node.js, or PHP) is a plus.
• Maldivians are preferred for this role.

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly Salary: MVR 15,000 - 20,000
